Support
FitterForge support
FitterForge is a pipefitter’s calculator for iPhone: offsets, miters, branches, take-offs, cut lists, spools, flange two-holing and bolt-up, and the pipe, fitting and flange tables they read from. Everything runs on the phone. There is no account, no server and no subscription.
Contact
Contact: contact@brazierlabs.com. Say which tool, what you entered, what you expected, and your iPhone model and iOS version. A screenshot helps.
Support is by email, read by the people who build the app. For how support works across all Brazier Labs apps, see the general Support page.
Requirements
iPhone running iOS 18.0 or later. The Angle Finder needs the phone’s motion sensors; everything else works on any supported iPhone.
How the calculators work
- Measurements are typed as fractional inches (
12 7/16), feet and inches (3' 4 1/2", or with the Show Feet and Inches setting), or millimetres with the metric setting. The space and slash keys sit above the keyboard. - The headline result is pinned above the keyboard. Tap Save on a calculator that keeps results, or Copy on a utility, and Share in the bar for a PDF sheet, a CSV or plain text.
- Every result says what it includes. Straight pipe length is centreline travel less the two take-offs and the weld gaps you entered; a result with no take-off is labelled centre-to-centre, never a cut length. Barlow gives the pressure at a grade’s minimum yield or tensile strength and is not a working or design pressure.
- About this calculation (the i in the bar) gives each tool’s method, its assumptions and its references.
Reference data
The pipe, fitting and flange tables are transcribed from the standards the Data tab names, with the edition and the publisher of every record and a Checked row saying whether a second publisher confirmed it (Cross-checked) or the standard alone was read (Single source). Weights of flanges, tees, reducers and caps are manufacturers’ approximate figures and say so. If a value looks wrong, tell us which record and what you read elsewhere.
Saved work
Jobs and saved calculations live on the phone, in the app’s own folder, and go with your iCloud or computer backup. Nothing is uploaded by FitterForge. Deleting the app deletes them. To keep a record elsewhere, export the Job as PDF or CSV from the Job’s page.
A saved calculation keeps the figures it was saved with. If a later version of FitterForge would compute a different answer, reopening it says so and names both figures; it never changes the saved one.
Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight
“Simple offset in FitterForge” and “Rolling offset in FitterForge” answer without opening the app; a pipe size can be looked up the same way. Saved calculations and Jobs appear in Spotlight and open the app on them. All of it is on the phone; nothing is sent anywhere.
Known limits in 1.0
- Minimum iOS: 18.0. iPhone only; no iPad layout.
- Pipe tables run to NPS 48 (B36.10M) and NPS 30 (B36.19M stainless); large flanges to NPS 60 (B16.47). No pressure–temperature ratings, no bolt torque, no design pressure. Barlow is a material-limit estimate only.
- Weights do not include fittings, flanges, valves, bolts, gaskets, insulation or rigging; a spool’s weight says what it could not weigh.
- English only.
